Dacre Dual Sport Challenge

PRESENTS

Dacre Dualsport Challenge

Date: 22, 23, 24 2018

The BASIC'S

The Dacre Dualsport Challenge is a GPS guided event that runs up to 950km (590 miles) in a 24 hour time frame. Multiple classes to choose from. Gold, Silver, Bronze & Iron. Each class representing difficulty based on mileage and terrain covered. Neither speed or time is factored into the results of this challenge. Racing is not what this event is about. Its simply completing the prescribed route in its entirety. Complete this event and be one of the few esteemed riders to hold that accomplishment. Do yo have what it takes to survive the "Longest Day"

As in the past, this years' event is a "Challenge Concept Event". Open to only road legal motorcycles. This includes Enduro, Dual Sport & Adventure Road Legal motorcycles. ( See class and bike qualifications below) This is not a day tour, it's all about personal and bike preparation, machine reliability, self sufficiency, team work, planning, navigation and camaraderie. It is considered a level 5 on our difficulty scale.  Be aware that you will be relying on your partners and yourself to take care of any problems that may arise. We will only be providing assistance in extreme emergency situations. You are responsible for providing your own logistics if you leave the event for any reason.  The entire route will be “swept” by our crew, but they may be hours behind you.

New for 2018
the start and finish of the event, will take place at the same location. No longer will you need to coordinate complicated return to start arrangements to collect your teams vehicles or left behinds. Team support vehicles can have a home base now to dispatch out of if required. For full details please continue reading below.

All riders must enter as a team!

TIRES
Aggressive DOT knobbies only. No Exceptions!

SAFETY & EMERGENCIES
It is absolutely essential to observe all highway safety codes and regulations as public roads are used.
To participate in this event, riders will be required to be members of a "Team" (2-5 members).

EACH TEAM HAS TO MANAGE OWN EMERGENCIES OR BREAKDOWNS. (Leave no man alone or behind!).

A "Riders Card" will be provided containing emergency contact phone numbers, hospitals, support vehicle etc.  Teams suffering a terminating bike mechanical failure, rider injury or running extremely late are required to inform the ride "help line" the phone numbers will be provided on the "Riders Card". There is an absolute requirement to know the whereabouts of any entrant. If necessary, call 911 and request police, fire, ambulance etc.
Due to the long overall distance, riders / teams will be required to maintain a reasonable average speed without breaking any Ontario Highway traffic acts. This requirement is for basic safety as long sections of the later part of this ride may need to be ridden in the dark.

ROUTE SWEEPING
We will provide sweep riders for the main designated route only!! If you leave the course you are on your own!! Teams will and must be responsible for other team members. Every rider MUST be accounted for!
We will have a support vehicle shadowing the route, via a truck route in case of emergencies.

Basic map and route notes will be provided. All participants will experience the same routing format, which is multiple routes consisting of 50 waypoints each. Each riders GPS will be collected at the finish line for full inspection that you completed the routes in there entirety If your GPS track log is not turned on and recording you will be instantly disqualified from the challenge. Your speed is also recorded in your track log and failure to produce that information will also result in a total disqualification.

CHECK POINTS
There will be many checkpoints throughout the day, to ensure that all riders are on course, and to track their progress.  Failing to stop at a checkpoint will eliminate your attendance in the challenge and remove your teams name from the finishers list.

TEAM VEHICAL SUPPORT GROUPS will be provided 2 weeks in advance with a gpx file. This file will be covering multiple way points to navigate through out the course using paved and gravel roads to each of the pit stop locations.  Recommended time lines will be provided.  This is a challenging rally for the support groups as well. SAFETY & EMERGENCIES
It is absolutely essential to observe all highway safety codes and regulations as public roads are used.
To participate in this event, riders will be required to be members of a "Team"

EACH TEAM HAS TO MANAGE OWN EMERGENCIES OR BREAKDOWNS. (Leave no man alone or behind!).

A "Riders Card" will be provided containing emergency contact phone numbers, hospitals, support vehicle etc.  Teams suffering a mechanical failure, rider injury, running late are required to inform ride "help line" at the phone number/s provided on the "Riders Card". There is an absolute requirement to know the whereabouts of any entrant. If necessary, call 911 and request police, fire, ambulance etc.
Due to the long overall distance, riders / teams will be required to maintain a reasonable average speed. This requirement is for basic safety as long sections of the later part of this ride need to be ridden in daylight.

We will not provide sweep riders for the ADV Class. Teams will and must be responsible for other team members. Every rider MUST be accounted for!
We will have a support vehicle shadowing the route, via a truck route in case of emergencies.

GPS guided, routes consist of pavement, county gravel, un-assumed, forest access roads. Mud is always possible through the day. Route notes will be provided. All participants will enjoy the same routing format, which is multiple routes consisting of 50 waypoints each.

Check points:
There will be many checkpoints throughout the day, to ensure that all riders are on course, and to track their progress.  Failing to stop at a checkpoint will eliminate your attendance marks for that portion of the course and remove your teams name from the finishers list.
