Dacre Rally

Dacre Overland Rally
Date: July 6 - 9 / 2023
The EVENT
The Dacre Rally is a GPS guided event that runs up to 750km in a 24 hour time frame. Multiple classes to choose from. Gold, Silver & Bronze. Each class representing difficulty based on mileage and terrain covered. Neither speed or time is factored into the results of this challenge. Racing is not what this event is about. Its simply completing the prescribed route in its entirety. Complete this event and be one of the few esteemed riders to hold that accomplishment. Do you have what it takes to survive the "Longest Day"
The event is a "Challenge Concept Event". Open to off road registered ATV & Side-by-Side Machines. Only 4x4 machines permitted. (See class and machine qualifications below) This is not a day tour, it's all about personal and machine preparation, reliability, self sufficiency, team work, planning, navigation and camaraderie. It is considered a level 5 out of 5 on our difficulty scale. Be aware that you will be relying on your support team and yourself to take care of any problems that may arise. Rally Connex will only be providing assistance in extreme emergency situations. You are responsible for providing your own logistics if you leave the event for any reason. The entire route will be “swept” by our crew, but they may be hours behind you.
The start and finish of the event, will take place at the same location. Team support vehicles can have a home base to dispatch out of if required. For full details please continue reading below.
NEW FOR 2023 We have added an extra day to move into the event. The Thursday before the event is now open for participants to arrive. This will greatly help you get settled into your campsite, get your machine ready, and do some test driving in the local area before registration and tech inspection open on the Friday.

SUPPORT CREW
A Support Crew Member is a person that helps you throughout the event. Much like a personal assistant. They may not ride with you or be a passenger. They can rendezvous with you at prescribed check points or any point along the course they see fit to intercept you for support. Support crews can virtually help with anything you may need. fuel, food, water, dry clothing, parts, medical, moral support, etc.... Support crew members have there own registration process they must complete. Entry for support crew per person is $25.00 See camping charges above. There will be a "meal deal" that can be purchased so that they can partake in all the same meals that the riders have. Vehicle support crews will be provided 1 week in advance with a gpx file. This file will be covering multiple way points to navigate through out the course using paved and gravel roads to each of the pit stop locations. Recommended time lines will be provided. This is a challenging rally for the support teams as well. Support teams will have to use navigation skills to locate their riders throughout the day if they can not make it to the provided pit stop locations.
SCORING
All single riders & teams must stop at all checkpoints. All checkpoints are on the routes provided. The checkpoints are shown on the route, about half of them are at the gas stops, which are also identified on the routes. Attending each checkpoint earns you points. Showing team spirit. ex: Team uniforms, flags, stickers, t-shirts etc etc.... Dacre logo on any team spirit will gain extra points. Download the logo here.
Teams and single riders will have their GPS tracks analyzed at the end of the ride. The more accurate you complete the prescribed route the more points are rewarded to the over all score. NO Speeding on the public road portions (penalty ranging from point deductions to full disqualification) Teams must finish with there minimum rider mandate. In other words, If your class has a minimum of 2 riders but your team has 3 riders and one quits, the other 2 may continue once the quitted rider has been safely returned to the start of the event.
SAFETY & EMERGENCIES
It is absolutely essential to observe all highway safety codes and regulations as public roads are used while participating in this event.
EACH COMPETITOR HAS TO MANAGE THERE OWN EMERGENCIES OR BREAKDOWNS. (Leave no rider alone or behind!).
A "Riders Card" will be provided containing emergency contact phone numbers, hospitals, support vehicle etc. Teams suffering a terminating mechanical failure, rider injury or running extremely late are required to inform the ride "help line" the phone numbers will be provided on the "Riders Card". There is an absolute requirement to know the whereabouts of any entrant. If necessary, call 911 and request police, fire, ambulance etc.
Due to the long overall distance, riders / teams will be required to maintain a reasonable average speed without breaking any Ontario Highway traffic acts. This requirement is for basic safety as long sections of the later part of this ride may need to be ridden in the dark.
ROUTE SWEEPING
We will provide sweep riders for the main designated route only!! If you leave the course you are on your own! Teams will and must be responsible for other team members. Every rider MUST be accounted for!
We will have a support vehicle shadowing the route, via a truck route in case of emergencies.
GPS ROUTES
GPS guided, routes consist of pavement, county gravel, un-assumed, forest access roads, Rocky rivers with fast flowing water, hill climbs and descents, deep muddy passes, large water holes, technical trail systems, drop offs & step ups, multiple down trees on trail & bush whacking. Each riders GPS will be collected at the finish line for full inspection that you completed the routes in there entirety If your GPS track log is not turned on and recording you will be instantly disqualified from the challenge. Your speed is also recorded in your track log and failure to produce that information will also result in a total disqualification.
