2 DAY ALGONQUIN TRAIL RIDE

SPONSORED BY GP BIKES

JUNE 20 - 21. 2026 (Fathers Day Weekend)

2 DAYS OF OFF ROAD ACTION!

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure at the Two Day Algonquin Trail Ride, kicking off from the welcoming Madawaska Complex in beautiful South Algonquin! This year brings even more excitement with brand-new single-track trail and additional route options, giving riders the freedom to tackle longer, more challenging stretches or enjoy shorter, scenic loops. As you ride, you’ll weave through towering pines, rugged Canadian Shield, winding forest corridors, and sweeping vistas that showcase the untouched beauty of Algonquin’s backcountry. The terrain—rated from 3 to 5—offers everything from flowing forest paths to rocky climbs and twisty technical sections, delivering a perfect mix of adventure and thrill for recreational to expert riders.

This is a fully arrowed, guided event, but riders are also welcome to use GPS tracks if they prefer navigating on their own. Friendly sweeps keep everyone moving safely and ensure all riders return before dark. A provided lunch stop on Saturday keeps you fueled for the trails, and riders can also choose to purchase the optional Saturday night dinner meal plan for a great evening of food, camaraderie, and exciting prizes.

The event welcomes both off-road green-plated bikes and on-road blue-plated bikes, making it accessible for a wide range of riders eager to explore this stunning terrain. Youth participants can join with an accompanying adult, and everyone registering before June 5 can snag a free event T-shirt. It’s shaping up to be the best ride yet—come experience the wilderness like never before!

TRAIL RIDE FORMAT

The Two Day Algonquin Trail Ride is designed for adventure and flexibility, offering a fully arrow-guided format with optional GPS tracks for those who prefer to navigate digitally. Each morning, a mandatory riders’ meeting will be held to cover trail conditions, safety information, and any last-minute updates before hitting the trails. Riders will head out through a mix of single-track trails, 2-track trails, forest access roads, rail line beds, snowmobile trails, and more, enjoying the full variety of South Algonquin’s rugged backcountry. Saturday’s ride covers roughly 150 km and includes a provided trail-side catered lunch, while Sunday follows a similar format at a shorter distance of 50–75 km, allowing everyone to return early for Father’s Day festivities. The main route is marked with orange arrows, with optional bypasses marked in green for easier alternatives and pink for advanced riders seeking extra challenge. This format ensures a fun, safe, and customizable experience for all skill levels.

Out on the trails, you’ll never be left behind. A dedicated team of sweep riders supports the group throughout the 2 days, ensuring everyone stays safe, guided, and accounted for. To help keep you confidently on course, trail-ride signs will be placed at the entrances of single-track sections, confirming you’re heading down the right trail before you dive in. Riders will also receive basic paper maps via email and in printed form, giving you both a digital and physical reference to better understand where you are throughout the day and to visualize the overall layout of the route.

Strategically placed fuel stops and break areas are built into each route to keep you topped up, rested, and ready for more, giving you peace of mind that you won’t run out of gas and that help is never far away. From navigation to safety to comfort, every element of the ride format is designed to keep you rolling smoothly so you can focus on the thrill, the challenge, and the unforgettable adventure of the 2 Day Algonquin!
